For those who have been asking how Tuco is doing, here is what he has been up to! Tuco was the dog brought in by Rhonda on emerge one night from Algoma Mills. He had been attacked by a Bear and had over a dozen punctures and life threatening lacerations. He was exhausted as the vet explained he had been out wandering a couple days with those injuries. It took hundreds of stitches and hours of surgery to close the many wounds on his body. He was lucky to survive the attack. Tuco was very agitated after surgery so we sent him to a facility in Southern Ontario to give him the time to recover and assess his behavior. He has come so far over the last couple months! He is a big lovebug who puts his head on my shoulder when I am driving. He gives kisses and loves to play! Tuco loves to run full speed in the open field and this rope is his favorite toy! We are now ready to look for a home for our guy. He needs an experienced owner and due to his size, no young children. He is very strong, but listens well. He is good with other dogs. He has not been tested with cats. A big thank you out to Rhonda for rescuing Tuco, he would not have made another night out there! The vet bill for Tuco was $7,700…..If you would like to donate to Tuco’s bill please send your donation to our Accountant Sue at please put “Tuco” as password. Pet Save has been saddled with many unexpected emergency bills this year as the number of injured animals dumped by owners has increased. All donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt.
